Somedays, something in your brain tells you not to ride, yet some people climb on anyhow. The best thing to do is not to ride that day and not let anyone talk you into it even your trainer.
There will be other days to ride but today, your instincts are telling you some thing. Maybe you are just not up to a challenge that day or your horse is giving you body language that makes you uncomfortable.
For some reason people do not trust their instincts, but they should. I have heard numerous times, I knew I shouldn't ride my horse today and I got on anyhow. The next sentence they tell me, is how they fell off. They tell me this, not at the barn, but in our orthopedic office, because they are seeing me now because something is broken or torn.
Trust your instincts, especially with horses, you were given instincts for a reason, to keep you safe. That is why all animals trust their instincts first because they want to stay safe.
